Summer is closing in many school districts starting school this week and in the coming weeks here in Texas. A couple of years ago I read that when school starts, moms around the nation drink more wine, so to celebrate this with my fellow moms, I've added a flash sale on my wine box holders. These wine box holders are one of my favorite items we've added to the shop this summer. I love boxed wine but I hate how each brand has its own shape and most wine box holders only fit the Black Box wine brand (and some don't even fit that). The idea of taking a bladder out of a box and putting it in your decorative dispenser is annoying to me so when Keith wanted to design this I made sure to go buy all the brands I normally buy to make sure they all fit. 

I need to give a ton of credit to Keith on these, he came up with an idea and a design and then had to incorporate all of my picky requests as you will see through the prototyping process. 

To the left, you see my original wine box holder. Keith made this for me a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it. It was made out of a shipping pallet and designed specifically to hold the Black Box wine brand. This is its only flaw as it fits nicely under my cabinet and I'm able to pour my wine as it sits on the counter.

As soon as we first got our laser engravers, recreating this was something on Keith's mind. The one on the right was his first design. This design also only fit the Black Box wine brand. The decorative top is something Keith came up with and you will notice how it changes over time. 

In this picture, we have a new design for the decorative top and the addition of a box with no legs. To the left is the first box with no legs. The wine box in the middle is the first box with hinges added as a feature to help you get your wine in and out easier. And the wine box to the right is a new adaptation of the wine box holder with legs featuring a new design for the top piece. Notice how tall it is. This was something I did not like. I want to be able to make things look put away by sliding them under my cabinets.

On a positive note, all three of these wine box holders are able to fit the three brands of wine I purchased for testing (Of course there was a little sampling as well; because science!). 

Even though the different brands of wine boxes all fit, they are still kind of tight and difficult to get in and out of the wine box holder at this stage. 

One thing I really like about how Keith made these is that the wine spigots all fit even though they sit at different heights. The Black Box is wider than the Bota Box and the Kirkland Box so before making these he was able to set the different brands in the original box and see how their spigots fit and adjust these within the design.

Finally, we are just a picture away from the final product. In this picture, you see the wine box holder to the left has a new sleek design on the top, and to the right you see the first stand. It's actually holding the wine box from the previous design so you can see in this picture that the whole thing has been widened for ease of use. 

At last, the final product is complete. Both the wine box holder with feet and the wine box holder without feet + stand sit at the same height. The wide design allows for easy in and out regardless of the brand of wine you love. The slightly shorter design allows them to fit under most cabinets. The front panels come in six designs plus the ability to customize.
